New Dutch activity started to find solutions for a dignified suicide

Because it – even in the Netherlands -  is still not possible to realize a dignified self-managed (without assistance) death, the Coöperatie Laatste Wil (Cooperative Last Wish) is established  for anyone over the age of 18.The initiative is supported by NVVE.

Huge Victory: Aid in Dying preserved in Montana

On 15 April 2013 the Montana Senate defeated bill H.B. 505 , a bill that would have criminalised medically assisted dying and would have mandated prison sentences and fines for physicians who provide aid in dying to terminally ill patients. The vote was 27 to 23 in opposition, after which the Senate also voted to indefinitely table the bill, eliminating the need for a final vote later.

This project provides no notable change compared with the Act of April 22, 2005. The will of the patient is not recognised and the decision of measures to be taken during a stop of treatment

Osmonde, the film - a crowd funding project about assisted dying

Osmonde is a short fiction film that portrays the last interactions of a young teacher and his eighty-four year old illiterate grandmother who, after spending eleven years of solitude in a care home, makes the decision to resort to assisted suicide. In order to make her change her mind, he undertakes to teach her how to read and write.
